Alternative Non-Volatile Memory Adoption Timeline- FMS 2015

A better NVM or universal memory has been proposed and predicted for decades.

Most technologies actually are older than NAND Flash

Yet most have failed or are limited to small niches.

Will this change?
What technology will win?
When will it Ramp?

And yes, we will provide analysis of the performance and cost for 3D XPoint compared to 3D NAND.

Hint: Dont write off NAND (Or even HDD) anytime soon.

We provide these answers and more at Flash Memory Summit 2015

3D NAND Costs and Transition Timeline at FMS 2015

3D NAND.... is it a major cost reduction and when will it happen?

There is a lot of hype around 3D NAND. From all the data, We know:

1) it is coming from all vendors
2) planar will not scale below 15/16nm
3) it allows higher density and lower cost

but we also see that

1) companies are vague about the cost reduction
2) Implementation is slower than original hype
3) we are unsure about the differences between companies in density and cost

We present answers to relative cost reduction and exactly when this "game changer" will ramp at Flash Memory Summit 2015

More quatitative details are available offline after the presentation
